If you’re new to the Churches of Christ—or just curious about the Cabarrus Church of Christ—here’s what we’re about in plain language.

At Cabarrus, our theme is simple and intentional: We Connect + Disciple + Serve as the body of Christ.
Everything we do is shaped by that.

We’re not built around social clubs, sports leagues, or entertainment. You won’t find a gym, commercial kitchen, or party room in our building. You will find a place for worship, Bible study, prayer, and genuine spiritual relationships. We want to connect with you, not just as a name on a list, but as a person made in the image of God with a soul that matters.

We’re not a civic club, a political group, or a generic community center. While our members are active in many areas of community life, the church itself has a specific purpose: to disciple people to follow Jesus Christ. That means opening the Scriptures together, answering honest questions, and helping one another grow in faith, obedience, and love.

The church Jesus established fills a role that no other human institution can. Many organizations do a lot of good by meeting physical and social needs. We’re thankful those exist. But the Lord’s church has a different primary mission. While others may focus on feeding physical hunger, our first responsibility is to feed the soul with the teaching of Jesus Christ (John 6:26–35).

According to the New Testament, the church exists to proclaim the wisdom of God and carry out His eternal purpose in Christ (Ephesians 3:10–11). That is why we take the church seriously. Jesus purchased it with His own blood (Acts 20:28), and reducing it to a social outlet or activity hub would miss what He intended it to be.

A lot of people feel that the church should constantly reinvent itself to match whatever society wants at the moment. We believe the deepest need in every generation is still the same: to learn to fear God, keep His commandments, and prepare for eternity (Ecclesiastes 12:13–14). Civic and social organizations are valuable and can meet many physical needs. But the church is uniquely equipped to care for the soul and to help people find their way back to God.

That’s why our focus is
We Connect + Disciple + Serve:

We Serve
As the body of Christ, we want to serve God and serve others for His glory, using the gifts He’s given each of us.

We Connect
We want to reach out to you, listen to your questions, and build a real spiritual relationship with you.

We Disciple
We want to help you become a follower of Jesus, not just in name but in daily life. That includes answering questions, providing Bible-based lessons, and walking with you as you grow.
